Rite of Passage

My youngest daughter got her driver’s license today.
After the six month waiting period and the sixty five hours of practice driving required by our state, along with thirty hours of classroom instruction, she has completed what was expected of her.
Now, just like my four other drivers, she is in God’s Hands.

Did you ever contemplate a rite of passage?
No more diapers, no more hitting balls from a tee, no more braces on teeth, elementary school…middle school…high school…diploma, college, graduation, job, marriage, having a family…
It begins all over again…with another generation.

The Crossing

It was my last stop of the day.
It was not a purchase day…it was a return day.

As I was driving on the small road that links two sections of the same parking lot, I had to pass a retention pond.
It changes every season…ice in the winter, water saturated after a spring storm, dry in the summer, and leaf filled in the fall.

Since it is spring, and it has rained quite a bit, there is water, marsh reeds, and geese.

The Tricycle Race

My husband went to college in the South.
It was a large university known for science and technology.

A tradition began there in 1969, where fraternities required their pledges to transport themselves around campus on tricycles.

Now, over forty years since it first began, it is still something you will see during Homecoming weekend. It is called the Mini 500 Race.

Your Holiness shines through.

She is the Hands and Feet of Christ
In all she sets to do.

She carries a humility
Because of who You are.
