Only A Mother

Only a mother knows the tear, the silent one that falls,
Only a mother knows for sure, the reason for it all.

Only a mother knows the pain, and hand and hand, the joy.
Only a mother knows the kiss of her precious little boy.

A Woman Is A Mirror

Posted in Poetry, Salvation | 4 Comments

Your Holiness shines through.

She is the Hands and Feet of Christ
In all she sets to do.

She carries a humility
Because of who You are.

Amazed that You would choose to use

Once there was a little girl,
Upon her mother’s knee,
Dolls and tea cups, ribbons and bows,
The occasional climb of a tree.

Off to school, the recess yard,
Jump rope on the street,
Dreaming of her wedding day,
When he would sweep her off her feet.

The Vessel

Posted in Poetry | 2 Comments

There sat the grandest vessel…high upon the shelf.
I have no place of honor, he thought sadly to himself.
I’ve been so very useful, to many, all my days.
I poured and poured so proudly, as I served in wondrous ways.
