The Invisible Army

Posted in Faith | Leave a comment

We can get very weary when we read the headlines.
We can get discouraged when we watch the news.
It is so easy to focus on what is in front of us.
But we must remember how limited that perspective truly is.

Reservoir

Obviously, I love to write.
It is a joy to sit down and write this post each day.

I still like to write notes and letters the old fashioned way.
There is something so special about receiving a hand written note.
It takes time and effort and thought.
It is a personal way to show you care.

I have a writing folder on my computer.
It includes essays, vignettes, and poems that I have written.

Tuning Forks

Posted in Faith | Leave a comment

If you had asked me what my favorite subject was when I was in school, I would have said Language Arts.

Only a mother knows the kiss of her precious little boy.

Naps are wonderful….especially the Sunday afternoon nap.
Come home from church, eat lunch together, read a book…fall asleep.
Often, the time between naps is far too long.
Maybe that is what makes them so special.

The Yoke

I play the piano.
There is something so special about sitting at the piano when the house is quiet, when no one else is around, and just play to my heart’s content.

Growing up, my mother always said she knew the kind of day I had by the songs I played.
My emotions tended to come out through my fingers.

Like any young piano student, I didn’t like to practice.
One day, I came home from school and the lid that covered the piano keys was pulled down.
It was always open.

Even If

King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, ninety feet high and nine feet wide, and set it up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon. (Daniel 3:1)

He did not make the image so he could sit and enjoy it himself.
He made the image for others to fall down and worship it.
Failure to do so meant that you would immediately be thrown into a blazing furnace.
