The Seed
Posted in Holy Week Leave a comment
I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. (John 12:24)
Spring.
The time of growth.
The time of new life.
Consider a garden.
The wonder of the soil; just the right amount of water and sunlight.
The waiting, as the mystery of life unfolds beneath the dark earth.
It all began in a Garden.
Direct fellowship with God.
It was good.
There was no shame.
But the weed of sin infiltrated the Garden.
It marred the beauty He intended.
The Gardener had a plan.
It was decided in a garden.
The will of the Father and the agony of the Son.
The weeds that Satan thought he had so cleverly planted.
Those weeds were destroyed by the blood that fell from His head.
He agonized in prayer.
He left His own will there beneath the olive trees.
His precious blood fertilized the soil.
Our sweet Savior, the Wondrous Seed, was planted.
As the days passed, life stirred.
By the Father’s power, the Seed rose to new life.
Glorious in majesty.
His Father became our Father.
His God became our God.
The kernel fell.
The enemy rejoiced.
A harvest of seeds have blossomed because of His planting.
The last enemy is death.
We have no fear.
We, who are planted with Him, will rise again.
Rejoice.
He will call our name, much like He did when He beckoned Lazarus from the tomb.
We will come forth.
We will not be wearing our grave clothes.
We will be dressed in His garments of righteousness.
Our Seed. Our Savior. Our Lord.
He is Risen.
They, will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor. (Isaiah 61:3)
